The annual AIDS Walk event just concluded. While the numbers haven’t been tallied yet, we can say with confidence based on turnout that it was a success. This has confirmed what we have known all along: that the residents of Houston and surrounding areas are altruistic and quick to give back to the community.
We are a long-time proud sponsor of AIDS Foundation Houston. We had a booth with a vehicle parked onsite and gave away Subaru swag. The main theme, though, wasn’t about the latest Subaru news or model releases. It was about raising awareness for a disease that afflicts 1.1 million men and women in the U.S., according to The Foundation for AIDS Research.
Throughout, participants were all smiles. Our participating staff at Gillman Subaru Southwest also enjoyed the event. It was a nice change of scenery to get out of the dealership and spend a morning and afternoon at Sam Houston Park. Our crew met a lot of new faces and struck up wonderful conversations, some of which with family and friends of people with AIDS or have succumbed to the disease.
On a typical day, we work out of our dealership and introduce customers to our inventory, which includes models like the 2019 Subaru Outback. Our new Subaru cars near Pearland, TX include a robust choice of SUVs, wagons, sedans and more. The AIDS Walk, though, was our way to showcase our brand elsewhere while giving back to the community in the process. We hope to see you there next year!
