If you're looking for a roomy and capable new vehicle, the
Subaru Outback
and Honda CR-V deserve a closer look. Both offer the cargo space you
need, the ability to tackle tough terrain, and a comfortable ride for
passengers and drivers alike. The Subaru model is available now here at Gillman Subaru Southwest and
the Honda model available at our three Honda rooftops, and we're confident
when we say that it's difficult to decide between the two.
Performance
Both the Subaru Outback and Honda CR-V offer an impressive amount of power and the capabilities that you need to drive in different off-road conditions. Each model comes equipped with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, so dirt roads, rough weather, and slippery services are never a problem.
Both models offer a similar amount of power when equipped with their base engines, though the Subaru Outback comes out ahead when you opt for its available turbo engine. It gives the Subaru model an output of 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque compared to the 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque produced by the Honda model.
Towing
The new Subaru vehicle can tow up to 3,500 pounds, and the Honda SUV maxes
out at 1,500 pounds. If you're looking for an SUV that can handle tough
towing jobs or home improvement projects, you can't go wrong with either
model.
Safety
Both of these SUVs offer plenty of safety features and driver assistance
technologies. The Subaru Outback holds a narrow edge here based on
recent crash tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has
evaluated both models. The Honda CR-V is a Top Safety Pick, andthe
new Subaru
model is a Top Safety Pick Plus!
Still having a hard time deciding between these two impressive, reliable models? We don't blame you - we sell both at Gillman and aren't ones to choose favorites.
